I am boundlessly blessed to have Sarah as my life partner and mother to our daughters. No one else I’d rather have by my side.

Tonight on Midnight Transmission, I’m bringing you one of the records that made 1999 such a huge year for trance. Veracocha’s Carte Blanche is one I’d expect to find in almost every trance head’s archive.

Behind that name are Ferry Corsten and Vincent de Moor. They made it in Ferry’s bedroom studio at his parents’ house, after spending hours trying to find the hook.

Vincent stepped away for a cigarette while Ferry kept improvising. Then Vincent called across the attic to ask what he’d just heard. Ferry only remembered parts, so they pieced the melody back together between them.

Think about that when the lead opens up. A phrase they had to reconstruct became the part so many of us recognise before the ID appears.

Give that melody the room it deserves tonight.

Album: Heavy Is The Crown - Anderson .Paak & Cordae

Cordae and Anderson .Paak’s first collaborative album Heavy Is The Crown has officially debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top Rap Albums chart, earning both artists their first #1 on the chart. The album debuted at #11 on the Billboard 200, marking Cordae’s highest-charting album to date. According to HITS Daily Double, the project earned approximately 30,290 first-week equivalent album units, including 18,428 pure album sales.

The 11-song album arrived October 23, seven years after the two first collaborated on “RNP” from Cordae’s Grammy-nominated 2019 debut The Lost Boy. They reunited on “Two Tens” in 2023 and “Summer Drop” in 2024 before joining forces for an entire album. The project has no guest rap features, with production contributions from J. Cole, 9th Wonder, Conductor Williams and Swizz Beatz.
