Visiting another country comes with a responsibility to respect the people and spaces around you. In this clip, a man sits shirtless inside a café while a Japanese man confronts him. During the exchange, the pair repeatedly call the Japanese man “hentai,” a word commonly used to mean “pervert.” The confrontation unfolds in front of other customers, turning a disagreement over behaviour into an uncomfortable scene. At the end, the Japanese man even says “sumimasen,” I’m sorry, and thank you! Cultural differences can lead to misunderstandings. How people respond when challenged matters too. Listening, getting dressed and speaking respectfully could have kept this situation from escalating. Was the Japanese man right to speak up, or was he overreacting? ❤️♾️
