worldbuilders…

You read your H.P. Lovecraft
Your Tolkien
Your Brandon Sanderson
And your R.R. Martin.

But you don’t create worlds
Of your own.

No, you live in someone else’s world.
You work at a company
Making other people rich.
While you slave away
Trading your time for money.

You’re afraid to take the initiative,,
Afraid you’ll waste your time
But, what else would you be doing with your time?
Reading of worlds created by others?

You’re unconfident in what to build,
How to build it,
But not the worldbuilders you read of.
No, they just go and build it.
And you know their world isn’t perfect,
But they’ve built it,
And you’ve read about it,
And you’ve lived in it.
So, why can’t you build worlds
Of your own?
