Scylla's Bite have a studio. What does that mean for me? >>>
What are we going to do? Facilitate workshops for emerging artists. Offer drop-in sessions to chat, write or socialise about all things theatre every Friday. Hold networking events. Allow ourselves to experiment, play and create new work. A ‘little free library’ of play texts and non-fiction books about theatre and practice. Make sure our studio is a safe space for everyone to practice, explore and discover art.
How did we do this? We know this is going to be the question on everybody's lips. We have no funding, no inheritance paying the rent, no secret lottery win. We saw a call out from Edinburgh Printmakers saying they are taking disused spaces and making them creative hubs. For £50 a month the space is ours to do whatever we like, and we are so grateful we managed to jump on this opportunity. No funny business, we were just looking at the right opportunity boards at the right time.
How can I support you for free? Attend our workshops and drop-in sessions, come to our networking events and say hello! If we can show a studio like this is in demand then we can apply for funding to keep going, and do bigger and better things. We’re going to try and make everything free or ‘pay what you can’. Share what we are up to. Whether it's chatting to friends, introducing us to other artists, reposting our content, or promoting our events, we want people to know we exist!
How can I support you in other ways? You can buy us a coffee! We’ve set up a Ko-fi page where you can donate as little as £1. Every little helps and we’re so grateful if you have money to spare. (Link in our LinkTree) Donate plays and texts to our little free library, if you have any copies to spare we’d love to share them with our community. We need to decorate our space to show it's being used for creative practice. If you have any unwanted furniture that would make the space cosy, please get in touch!

Here is everything you need to know about how we did it, how it benefits you and how you can support us - all in one neat post ✨

A huge thank you to @edinburghprintmakers and all they do to support artists. We truly never could have imagined this opportunity coming so soon for us.

We can’t wait to share our space with you 🧡

Don't you just love this colour? 😍 For this outfit it's a navy blue dress flared dress and classic black high heels shoes. What steals the show though? - the wonderful french navy fully fashioned nylon stockings from @giostockings They're such a lovely colour and add a touch of elegance to any outfit.
