Local Activists Claims ICE Made Arrests In Stockton

via @209timesenespanol

Immigrant rights advocate, Luis Magaña Acevedo, announced on social media that immigration enforcement officers (ICE) apprehended a man in Stockton today:

“ICE ARRESTS IN STOCKTON. I share with you a brief summary of today, Tuesday, October 20 in the morning: Marvin, a migrant worker originally from Guatemala, was driving his work truck on Highway 99 when he noticed that black vans were following him. When leaving 99 and taking Main Street, he was arrested by ICE agents next to shops and Latin restaurants. He was arrested and taken to the ICE facilities in this city where this afternoon he was transferred to another detention center apparently south of the valley. I showed up at the ICE offices asking about Marvin, but after a while they gave me his keys to his work van and other belongings that I gave to his relatives and returned to the ICE now with a backpack with clothes that I gave to the federal officers. On this day there have been more false rumors such as that of an alleged migration checkpoint by the Airport Way and Rancho San Miguel store that when verified it was a checkpoint promoting a campaign of a state program to repair vehicles with mechanical problems. In both cases that are circulating and went viral on social networks of the two places, there were no immigration operations only to the construction worker who had already been following him. -LMA”

ICE has not released a statement confirming whether or not they’ve made an arrest. #stockton #california

POV: You are in a toxic relationship with the state. It cannot even do the ‘bare minimum’.
