As we are approaching World Down Syndrome day, this video really hit home with us. Since we are just starting on our journey with Jake, I see myself thinking about wanting and needing to protect and overprotect him, yet at the same time stimulate and challenge him so he can maximise his potential. One thing is for sure, and although we are not living in a perfect world, the daily support Jake is getting, the opportunities that will be coming his way in the future and the choices he will be able to make and deserve to make, we can only be grateful for.
