5 moves in 6 years! But this one feels different. The decision to move back home was an easy one to make but it also created a lot of doubts and concerns! @audrey.ceuppens and I couldnt be happier the way the @bloemcamp.school and @inzowijs have prepared and welcomed the arrival of Jake. New school, new language, new friends and new routines! He just takes it into his stride!! Also excited to read about the national campaign launched by @gehandicaptkind and @ad_nl to raise the much needed awareness around inclusion in primary schools in the Netherlands. Confident that with a bit of hard work, positve energy and an open mind, everyone will have a chance to thrive in an inclusive education system... by @douglasgremmen

💙💛 October is Down Syndrome Awareness Month!
In just one month, I’ll be running the NYC Marathon 🗽 for LuMind IDSC Foundation and National Down Syndrome Society, two amazing organizations advocating for individuals with Down Syndrome, like our son Jake.

Jake and his peers show us every day how much brighter and richer the world is when we embrace different perspectives and abilities. Training for a marathon is tough, but Jake has taught me patience, resilience, and the joy of celebrating every win along the way.

Five years later and finally got to do a HYROX with the wifey @audrey.ceuppens and she totally crushed it! Couldnt be happier with the result but more importantly it was a lot of fun! As we are approaching World Down Syndrome day, this video really hit home with us. Since we are just starting on our journey with Jake, I see myself thinking about wanting and needing to protect and overprotect him, yet at the same time stimulate and challenge him so he can maximise his potential. One thing is for sure, and although we are not living in a perfect world, the daily support Jake is getting, the opportunities that will be coming his way in the future and the choices he will be able to make and deserve to make, we can only be grateful for. by @douglasgremmen
