![Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton may be longtime friends, but a new biography about the reality star reportedly brought some old tension back to the surface.
Jonathan Van Meter, author of “Citizen Kim: The Woman Who Created the Future,” claims Hilton canceled her interview for the book 17 times over four months, leaving Kardashian upset.
“Late in the process, I told Kim I should talk to [Hilton],” Van Meter told *The Hollywood Reporter*. “Kim checked and said Paris agreed, but I had to go through her publicist. That was unusual: With everybody else, Kim just sent a text.”
Despite coordinating with Hilton’s team, the interview never happened.
“And then the interview was canceled 17 times over about four months,” he revealed. “Eventually I thought the cancellations were more interesting than whatever she’d tell me.”
When Kardashian learned what happened, the author claims she wasn’t happy.
“Kim was so mad when I told her. It seemed to stir up some ancient irritation between them,” he said. “The creation turning on the creator.”
However, a source close to Hilton disputed the alleged drama, blaming scheduling issues and insisting, “Kim is not mad.”
The situation is particularly interesting given their history. Before becoming a billionaire businesswoman, Kardashian worked as Hilton’s assistant and stylist, eventually building her own reality television empire.
Van Meter also did not interview Kanye West or Ray J for the biography, which arrives October 27.
