Bagaimana jika ada warga yang harus segera dibawa ke rumah sakit, sementara sungai sedang banjir dan arus begitu deras? Menunggu air surut bisa berarti kehilangan waktu yang sangat berharga. Memaksakan menyeberang, nyawa jadi taruhannya.

Hari ini, untuk pertama kalinya saya mengunjungi Desa Podol, Loloda Utara. Melihat langsung bagaimana masyarakat setiap hari harus menyeberangi Sungai Podol menggunakan rakit.

Bagi warga, ini bukan sekadar urusan menyeberang. Ada anak-anak yang harus pergi sekolah, petani yang membawa hasil kebun, dan warga yang membutuhkan layanan kesehatan. Ketika arus sungai deras, semua aktivitas itu bisa terhambat.

Karena itu, setelah puluhan tahun pembangunan Jembatan Sungai Podol direncanakan pada tahun 2027. Agar akses pendidikan, kesehatan, dan ekonomi masyarakat lebih aman dan tidak lagi bergantung pada kondisi sungai.

Pemprov Maluku Utara hadir bukan hanya untuk melihat dan mendengar persoalan warga, tetapi berkomitmen menghadirkan solusi.
