💫 UTAH 💫 I think I love you. Truly a breath of fresh air.
Silliness!
📌 I write down all the ways I am difficult to be married to. I received this advice from another wife, and what a humbling experience! It’s easy to list your husband’s shortcomings, but have you ever honestly considered what it’s like to be married to YOU? Your attitudes, reactions, and difficult habits? 📌 I read my Bible as often as possible, especially when resentment or self-pity creeps in. Nothing exposes my sinful heart quite like God’s Word. It reminds me of who God has called ME to be, regardless of what my husband is or isn’t doing. 📌 I try not to sweat the small stuff. The way he hangs the laundry, loads the dishwasher, or helps around the house. We women often want everything done OUR way. But constantly correcting a man who’s genuinely trying to help is discouraging. Rather express gratitude than criticism over things that don’t really matter. 📌 I intentionally focus on his strengths rather than his flaws. His flaws are still very much there, just like mine. But I refuse to view him primarily through the lens of everything he lacks. What you constantly focus on shapes how you feel about someone. 📌I take the log out of my own eye first. Matthew 7:3–5 is uncomfortable when you’re convinced your husband is the problem. We’re both sinners in desperate need of grace. How can I receive so much mercy and forgiveness from God yet be unwilling to extend it to my husband? 📌I serve my husband I hear so many wives ask, “Why should I do this when he doesn’t do that for me?” Because Jesus told us to serve one another in love. That’s why. Our obedience to Christ shouldn’t depend on whether our husbands are doing their part. This tit-for-tat mentality is the opposite of Christlike love. I serve him because I love Jesus, not because I’m guaranteed something in return. ❤️ None of this comes naturally to me. Keeping my heart soft requires daily humility, repentance, and dependence on Christ. It’s exactly why I created my 28-Day Purposeful Wife Challenge, to help women grow in the areas God has been challenging me in. 📌Comment "LINK" if you’re ready to become a more intentional, Christlike wife
