From Coachella to record-breaking stadium tours, @lorrenchiodo talks life on the biggest stages, behind-the-scenes creativity, and expanding her sound with digital wind instruments.

Woodwind aficionado @lorrenchiodo is no stranger to arena stages. Her first major gig, playing with Harry Styles headlining Coachella, felt almost fated.

Since then, she’s performed with, directed, and arranged for major acts like Florence + The Machine, UMI, and PinkPantheress.

How did you find your way into the touring world?

“After graduating from Berklee College of Music in Boston, I moved to Los Angeles with absolutely no plan. My first job there was as a music editor, working on various film projects. At the same time, I was playing local gigs around the city as a saxophonist.

Then, in 2022, I got the call to perform with Harry Styles at Coachella. From there, I joined the Love On Tour run across North America and Europe. That became my first touring experience, which is kind of wild when you think about it.”

Your first touring gig was an arena tour? What was that like?

“It was definitely a huge introduction to touring. We were playing places like Scotiabank Arena, Madison Square Garden, and The Forum. On that first tour, we broke records at MSG and The Forum, which was pretty surreal.

I remember feeling more excited than nervous. There were definitely nerves, but they felt productive—like energy and anticipation. It felt like stepping into something I’d been working toward for a long time.”

You’ve also arranged and directed music for Florence + The Machine. What do you enjoy most about shaping a show?

“There’s so much collaboration and idea-sharing that goes into creating a live show. Being part of that group effort is incredibly rewarding.

With Florence, it was especially exciting because I’m a huge choir nerd and got to arrange choral material, including a choral overture. Florence is such a deeply musical artist, and it felt like a creative playground where we could explore all kinds of ideas.”

What role do the Aerophone and Brisa play in your live setup?

“They’ve become a huge part of my setup. My goal has always been to become an integral member of whateve
