FIRST 42.2 and a world major!!🌟

It has to be undoubtedly one of the most difficult things i’ve ever done. But what an absolute privilege to run my first full marathon AND my first World Major in the beautiful city of Chicago❤️

Oh man i can’t believe the photos on my vision board are the real pictures on my camera roll now🥹

A reminder to jump into the deep end, set yourself the scariest goals, put in the hard work (and then some more), and keep chasing your dreams!!

THANK YOU CHI CITY, you’ll always be special🇺🇸💌

I don’t believe everybody deserves a relationship with you, and I also don’t believe every difficult relationship deserves permanent exile, because collective liberation will require us to deal with people we cannot control.

Somebody you love believes something harmful right now, and the real question is what you know how to do about it besides announce that you’re done: how to confront without controlling the response, how to set a boundary that isn’t a threat of abandonment, how to tell a dangerous relationship from an uncomfortable one, and how to leave clean when leaving is the work.

Those are four different skills, and the word-for-word scripts for all of them are in the Relational Skills for Liberation Toolkit; the full essay is on my Substack.

Comment WORKBOOK, and I’ll send you the link.

Repost: @theeblackdailytx Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland just turned a piece of their Houston history into a home for people who need one. The #KnowlesRowlandHouse held its grand opening on Tuesday, October 13, a 31 unit permanent supportive housing development in Midtown Houston for people who have experienced chronic homelessness, with 16 of the units designed to be accessible. Beyoncé and Rowland marked the occasion alongside family, including Tina Knowles and Blue Ivy and Rumi Carter.

The building has deep roots. It began as the Knowles-Rowland Center for Youth, built in 1999 with money from Destiny's Child's first hit single, on the campus of the church where both families worshipped. Hurricane Harvey damaged it in 2017 and a fire hit in 2021, leaving it unused until nonprofits Bread of Life and Temenos Community Development Corporation reimagined it as an $8.4 million housing project, backed in part by a $7.2 million Harris County grant. Residents get a full rent subsidy through the Houston Housing Authority, plus services like case management, mental health support, substance abuse treatment, and life skills training.

It lands when #Houston needs it, with the city's unhoused population up 16 percent in 2025. Two Destiny's Child icons who came up here chose to leave a legacy that goes beyond music, a place where people can rebuild stability and independence.
