Morphology of the Aerial is an air sculpting apparatus and a subsequent spatial audio-visual composition made site-specific. As a way to speculate the dark and unusual contingencies and complex phenomenon within our surroundings, the composition unfolds with a single air release of compressed air and evolves into a multi-channel sonic texture of working and weathering with turbulent airflow, questioning what turbulence would sound like in its physicality and materiality. Originally developed with sound, light, and an 8-channel pneumatic instrument during iii Research Residency @instrumentinventors in the Hague. The composition has been mixed in @elektronmusikstudion_ems Elektronmusikstudion (EMS) in Stockholm’s multichannel studio during her guest composer residency in 2022. And mastered by Shawn Hatfield.
