[URX008] Morphology of the Aerial by Mint Park is now released as digital single on Unheard. After the octophonic premier of the multichannel composition @sonicacts Biennial 2024 Listening Room exhibition, here resides a binaural render of the immersive work mastered by @audibleoddities

Visit our bandcamp store or link in bio 🎧

Morphology of the Aerial is an air sculpting apparatus and a subsequent spatial audio-visual composition made site-specific. As a way to speculate the dark and unusual contingencies and complex phenomenon within our surroundings, the composition unfolds with a single air release of compressed air and evolves into a multi-channel sonic texture of working and weathering with turbulent airflow, questioning what turbulence would sound like in its physicality and materiality. Originally developed with sound, light, and an 8-channel pneumatic instrument during iii Research Residency @instrumentinventors in the Hague. The composition has been mixed in @elektronmusikstudion_ems Elektronmusikstudion (EMS) in Stockholm’s multichannel studio during her guest composer residency in 2022. And mastered by Shawn Hatfield.

Ghost Frequency EP037 - SITE SPECIFICS 2022: Into the Thin Air 🔊
link to the episode in bio!

For this episode we are following a sonic journey of SITE SPECIFICS 2022: Into the Thin Air workshop took place at Klankenbos, a sound forest located in the border of the Netherlands and Belgium.

The week-long workshop dove into the air that we breathe and live in through the materiality of sound by making listening exercises and collecting field recordings of the surrounding environment of Klankenbos, where man-made sonic objects and natural environmental sound coincidences. Led by Mint Park @scmint, students from @kask_mediakunst and selected young artists from @instrumentinventors explored the emergent and generative forms within the intricate relationship of sound and space that comes from the practice of listening. Also in parallel and they also learned about Spatio-temporal DSP techniques based on repetition and made textural compositions to reflect this digitally. The episode is consisting of materials from 2 hour long guided walk around the Klankenbos where participants presented their original compositions, site specific performances and interventions as part of @oortreders_festival in Pelt, BE, presented by @musicaimpulscentrum

👂GF 036: Sáof ⚡️

Recorded during a few very hot sessions at WORM Studio in Rotterdam during Unheard’s residency, Sáof @eefir - a solo project of Liza Kuzyakova - presents a mix of unreleased tracks. Composed together with material from earlier live sets, this music is for those weird nights when the walls start to melt into noise. With analogue mess echoing and whirling.

For those sworn to feedback
