Mung Daal & Beef Curry A hearty, comforting Bangladeshi classic where tender beef meets roasted mung daal Watch the reel for visuals Follow the recipe below ⬇️ ingredients: ◾️1 kg Beef ◾️3 Cups of Mung Daal ◾️1 tsp Punch Paran ◾️2 Bayleaf ◾️2 Cinnamon Sticks ◾️5 Cardamom Pods ◾️1 tbsp Garlic Paste ( Homemade) ◾️1 tbsp Ginger Paste ( Homemade) ◾️3 Onions Cut in Cubes ◾️1/2 Turmeric Powder ◾️1 tsp Garam Masala ◾️Salt to taste ◾️2 tbsp Chilli Powder ◾️2 tbsp Mix Curry Powder ◾️1 tsp Cumin Powder ◾️1 tsp Coriander Powder ◾️6 Whole Green Chillies ◾️1 Onion ( Finely Sliced)Bagar Optional ◾️Handful of Chopped Coriander Method: ◾️In a pan over medium heat, dry roast the mung daal until it turns slightly brown. Remove from the pan, wash, and soak in warm water for 2–3 hours. For best results, soak overnight. ◾️In a pan over medium heat, add the oil. Once heated, add the whole spices, followed by the onion, salt, turmeric powder and garam masala. Stir until the onion changes colour slightly. ◾️Add the beef and mix well. Cover with a lid and cook for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent it from burning. ◾️Once the onion has softened and the meat is tender, add all the spices listed above and cook for a further 5 minutes. ◾️Add the soaked mung daal and stir well. Pour in 5–6 cups of hot water from the kettle, adding more if needed to achieve your preferred consistency. ◾️Cook over low heat for 25 minutes, or until the mung daal is soft and cooked through. ◾️In a separate pan, heat 2 tbsp of ghee and add the sliced onion. Fry until golden brown. ◾️Pour the fried onion and ghee over the beef curry. ◾️Garnish with freshly chopped coriander. ◾️Serve with a hot plate of rice 🍚 #moongdal #bangladeshifood #pakistanifood #beefcurry #easyrecipe
