During the months of March and April, the cherry blossom season in Japan draws large crowds. Cherry blossoms, or sakura in Japanese, are a huge part of their culture.

O hanami, or cherry blossom viewing, is a national pastime. You'll find many Japanese sitting under the blossoms having a picnic, with their shoes sitting next to their blankets.

Japan has hundreds of varieties of cherry trees, from five to many petals, and from white to dark pink blossoms. Cherry blossoms are their national flower 🌸🌸🌸🇯🇵
