Note: using the term “women” as studies were done on AFAB individuals without gender categorisation. Will use menstruator when gender is taken into consideration. Nonetheless menstruators of all genders are affected by this lack of inclusion in bio-medical research.

🙌 Just a suggestion: it would be also good to mention this is western (European) medicine and how perhaps other societies (indigenous mostly) perceived menstruation. Because when we say “history” it would be inaccurate to say that European texts were “first” to talk about menstruation right? Could be interesting to find out how old medicine snd science perceived in the east :))
