Not me getting schooled by my own advice… 😂

I spend a lot of time encouraging parents to do hard things. To step outside their comfort zones. To tolerate the discomfort of doing something new.

And then I somehow agreed to join @robinnyc for a LIVE Peloton ride, having never taken a spin class in my life. What could possibly go wrong?!

I kept coming back to what I want my kids to know: You don’t have to make uncomfortable feelings go away before you try something new. You can feel nervous, unsure, completely out of your element… and still get on the bike.

And I did it! Was I the best in the class? Absolutely not. But that was never the point. I was nervous, I did it anyway, and I’m really proud of myself.

I didn’t have to stop feeling like a beginner to begin.

Earlier this week, I challenged you to try something outside your comfort zone, too. And your responses were incredible. Going to events where you don’t know anyone. Learning mahjong. Running for school board. Taking tap lessons for the first time (still waiting on my invite!).

Your stories inspired me, and I hope mine inspires someone else. So let’s keep this going.

What’s something new YOU want to try? Tell me in the comments. Let’s celebrate being beginners and cheer each other on. ❤️

So lucky to have parents like these. 🥹❤️🧿 Mere parents mujhe itna pyaar karte hain, har step par support karte hain aur har Navratri meri pooja itne pyaar aur shraddha se karte hain. 🙏🏻❤️ I feel like the luckiest daughter in the world. No matter how big I grow, I’ll always be their little girl. 🫶🏻✨ My biggest blessing is being their daughter. ❤️🧿
