So it seems like France has decided to remake Les Miserables with hundreds of thousands of people taking to the streets despite horrific cases of police brutality to protest the rising cost of living. Beginning in the poor northern suburbs of Paris the movement has spread to the entire country with the Gilet Jaunes dusting off their high-vis in solidarity with the student movement. And now there are signs that the demand for change is spreading right across Europe with protests spreading from Lisbon to Milan. Are we on the cusp of a societal change where we stop allowing billionaires to exist and build flying cars? We can only hope.
