Paramount just dropped the first trailer for “Ebenezer” at Comic-Con.

Directed by Ti West, known for “X,” “Pearl,” and “MaXXXine,” the film is a dark horror-fantasy reimagining of the Charles Dickens classic with Depp playing Scrooge tormented by the spirits of Christmas throughout a snow-covered Victorian London.

The cast surrounding Depp is stacked. Ian McKellen plays Jacob Marley, Daisy Ridley is the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come, Andrea Riseborough is the Ghost of Christmas Past, Rupert Grint plays Bob Cratchit, and Tramell Tillman appears as the Ghost of Christmas Present. The trailer ends with Depp looking directly into the camera and delivering the line “It’s good to be back.”

Jack Sparrow, Edward Scissorhands, the Mad Hatter, Willy Wonka, and now Ebenezer Scrooge.

“Ebenezer” hits theaters November 13, 2026.

The second best part of last night’s White House Correspondents Dinner was receiving an award from my friend and mentor, @wolfblitzer. The first was reminding everyone why the First Amendment — and asking uncomfortable questions that people in power don’t like — matters.

کانر میچالک، پسربچه ۸ ساله‌ای بود که با نوعی سرطان تهاجمی مغز مبارزه می‌کرد. با وجود جراحی‌ها، شیمی‌درمانی و روزهای سخت بیمارستان، عشقش به کشتی‌کج و WWE هرگز کم‌رنگ نشد. او تنها یک آرزو داشت؛ اینکه روزی با قهرمان محبوبش، تریپل اچ، مبارزه کند.

بنیاد «میک اِ ویش» (Make-A-Wish) این آرزو را با کمک WWE به واقعیت تبدیل کرد. کانر به مرکز تمرینی WWE دعوت شد و علاوه بر دیدار با ستاره‌هایی مانند جان سینا، دنیل برایان و رندی اورتن، روی رینگ هم مقابل تریپل اچ قرار گرفت. در آن مسابقه نمادین، تریپل اچ خودش را شکست‌خورده نشان داد و در پایان، دست کانر را به‌عنوان برنده بالا برد؛ لحظه‌ای که به یکی از احساسی‌ترین صحنه‌های تاریخ WWE تبدیل شد.

اما این خوشحالی تنها یک ماه دوام داشت. کانر در ۲۵ آوریل ۲۰۱۴ بر اثر پیشرفت بیماری درگذشت. داستان شجاعت او آن‌قدر تأثیرگذار بود که WWE برای زنده نگه داشتن یادش، جایزه سالانه «جایزه شجاعت کانر» را پایه‌گذاری کرد؛ جایزه‌ای که هر سال به افرادی با روحیه‌ای الهام‌بخش و مبارزه‌ای شجاعانه با سختی‌های زندگی اهدا می‌شود.
