Influencer #GracieBon is catching major heat online after sharing photos of herself standing amid the destruction left behind by a devastating earthquake in #Panama.

The curvy social media personality, who boasts more than 11 million Instagram followers, posted several images Sunday (Oct. 11) showing herself surrounded by damaged buildings and rubble. The 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck the country on Oct. 9, leaving several residents without homes. Alongside the photos, Gracie encouraged her followers to help those affected, writing, “The reality of my country after the earthquake,” before reminding them that while material possessions can be replaced, lives cannot. She also shared footage of herself shopping for what appeared to be donations.

However, her message quickly sparked backlash, with critics accusing the influencer of turning a natural disaster into a personal photoshoot and using the suffering of others for social media engagement. Gracie wasn’t having it, though, and took to her Instagram Stories to defend herself. According to Gracie, her goal was simply to bring attention to the devastation and encourage donations to those in need. Despite the criticism, she reportedly plans to continue sharing relief information and supporting families impacted by the earthquake.
