EXCLUSIVE: Lisa’s Deli’s next chapter involves a familiar Hoboken name: Otto Strada co-owner Nick Rutigliani shared with The Hoboken Girl that he + business partner Dante Amato have taken over the longtime deli at 901 Park Avenue, with a reopening currently targeted for January 2027. And yes, it’s been a saga: Back in March, we reported on a rental listing for the deli’s address. At the time, Lisa’s representatives told HG the listing “was a mistake” and the space wasn’t for rent, while a separate local real estate agent told us it was available and the deli was closing. The listing was later deleted. Then came the summer closure - closed for four months. By September, Lisa’s still hadn’t reopened, its phone wasn’t working, and online ordering was unavailable, prompting more reader questions + another HG update. On October 20th, a new sign finally appeared announcing renovations, new ownership, and plans to reopen. Now, we’ve spoken directly with Nick about what’s ahead: the Lisa’s name is staying, the space + menu are getting a refresh, and Italian deli classics, sandwiches, and house-made mutz are part of the plan. The Lisa family still owns the building, while Nick + Dante have fully taken over the business. For Nick, who was born and raised in Hoboken and still lives here, keeping Lisa’s going is personal. “It’s important to keep the tradition alive, keep it Lisa’s.” We loved chatting with him about his vision, and are excited that this longtime gem will continue its legacy, with new owners.
