FEMME ZOMBIE OUT NOW

What does it mean to become more fully yourself? For Karla Mosley, the answer is not found in a single role, award, or moment of recognition. It is reflected in the choices she makes along the way.

Known for her portrayal of Dani Dupree on CBS’s Beyond the Gates, @karlamose is among the performers at the center of a historic television season. The series earned 15 Daytime Emmy nominations in 2026, including Outstanding Daytime Drama Series, while Karla received a nomination for Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series.

But her story extends beyond the recognition.

Throughout her career, Karla has demonstrated that an artist’s influence is not measured only by the characters she brings to life. It is also revealed in the convictions she carries into the work, the questions she is willing to ask, and the decisions she makes when her values call for something more.

In this IMPACT Magazine cover feature, we explore Karla’s journey through the lens of Becoming: the evolution of an artist, the responsibility of representation, and what it means to remain aligned with your values while navigating an industry that is constantly changing.

As an honoree of IMPACT Magazine’s Black Women Defining Television experience, Karla represents a powerful dimension of what it means to define television. Not simply through the stories we tell, but through the choices we make and the impact we leave behind.

Because sometimes the most important part of becoming isn’t what the world sees. It’s what we choose when the decision is ours.

Karla Mosley. An artist whose evolution is as meaningful as her performance.
