Apparently I’m exploring below the surface today. Last day on Maldives 🇲🇻
I’ve been doing 4:30 dinners since the kids started school, and here are the reason why 👇🏽 One of the main reasons is that they come home absolutely starving. I’m not there at school to see exactly what they’ve eaten, and although I’d like to think they’ve had a good lunch, some days they love the school dinners and other days they barely touch them. So instead of them coming home and wanting snacks, we have dinner instead 👌🏽 Secondly, homework gets done without the constant, “What’s for dinner?” or “I’m hungry.” They come home, switch off for a bit, have their dinner, and then they know it’s time to get their homework done. I also just feel like every evening is slower now. Nothing feels as rushed. And on the days when we’ve got sports or clubs, I know they’ve already had a proper meal before we rush back out the door. Their tummies are full, they’ve had something decent, and we’re not relying on snacks or grabbing junk because everyone’s starving. And just all round, I feel like we have more time together as a family. It’s such a small change, but honestly, 4:30 dinners have made our evenings feel so much calmer. ✨ #routine #mumof3 #dayinthelife
