CADBURY’S FRUIT AND NUT BAR DUPE + sneak peek of our new garden by @theconsciousgardeningco (full reveal soon)

This was my favourite chocolate bar as a kid! I saw this hack doing the rounds on insta and had to give it a go, here’s the recipe:

Ingredients:

1 and 1/4 cups mixed nuts (I used pecans, hazelnuts, walnuts, pistachios, cashews, and almonds)
1/3 cup of dried fruit / seeds (I used pumpkin seeds, sultanas, cranberries, and raisins, you could also used chopped apricots, figs and/or dates)
2 x 100g bars 70% dark chocolate (plant-based)
Sprinkle of sea salt

Method:

Preheat your oven to 120, fan setting, or the lower temperature setting

On a lined medium baking dish or tray, measure and mix the nuts and dried fruit/seeds together into one rectangular layer. Place the chocolate directly on top and pop in the oven!

After 4-5 minutes, check to see if it has melted (it should have, but if not leave for another min or so) then remove, sprinkle over the sea salt, and pop in the freezer for 20-25 minutes to firm up.

Once set, carefully remove the slab (which should be holding together) and cut into bite-sized pieces! Enjoy 😊

❄️ 💫 🐭 COMPETITION! 🎁 CHRISTMAS! 🎁 GIVEAWAY! 🎁 UNBOXING! 🎶🎄 ✨

It’s maybe a little bit early for this, but listen: the weather is getting colder, and inside we’re warm and the lamps are lit, and if I’m not mistaken, and if you pay attention, there’s a silvery sort of feeling in the air, somewhere faint and far off, that sounds something like magic… My mum won’t let us talk about Christmas before October half-term, but I hope she’ll make an exception for this. Look! Baby’s first unboxing! Look at my lovely books! Look at my lovely mice! @alicecourtley drew the pictures! I wrote the words! This is The Great Mouse Orchestra, and she’s out in one week, EEP.

Look at this cutaway. Are you for real? No. You can’t be for real. This is a book about a house I used to live in and some mice that live there and also some other people. And about music and magic and trying your best and making friends and following your dreams and ending up somewhere you never imagined. I love this book. Here’s twenty of them in a box! Do you want one?

I’ve got loads. I’ll send one to a lucky winner, with the activity pack and some stickers and stuff. Comment with your favourite animal who lives somewhere near you, and I’ll pick a winner at random this time next week, and get @bloomsburychildrens to send the winner the spare pack. It’s really cute. The stickers are flawless. And the book….is mine and I hope you love it.
