BLOCKORAMA ACT 26. Liberation Now. TODAY! 🎶

Blockorama was started by a group of friends who would play soca music in a parking lot to celebrate Pride in a way that’s honours their culture. They needed a way to party with each other that wasn’t centered around whiteness. They wanted to hear music made for them by them, see black faces and get on bad with their chosen family. Pride started as a protest but has been co-opted by big banks and other capitalistic corporations to ultimately turn a profit under the guise of LGBTQ acceptance. That’s why Blockorama is so important. Black people built this stage, the BIGGEST stage at Pride Toronto, from the ground up. Black people said fuck y’all let’s get ours.. “Let’s reclaim pride!” ..”Let’s put our people on!” Liberation now! From abroad to right here in tdot.

Talk about Palestine, Congo, Sudan, Haiti, Tigray, Jamaica… support the people on the ground doing the REAL WORK. We are not free until we are ALL free. This WORLD is sick but not everyone is evil. Emancipate yourself from mental slavery. None but ourselves can free our minds. Let music heal you. Let community heal you.

Blockorama. Spinning at 4pm. See you there 💋
