The U.S. military has developed strike plans that include potentially using the GBU-43B Massive Ordnance Air Blast (MOAB) bomb, known as the “mother of all bombs,” against Iranian energy infrastructure and nuclear sites, according to multiple U.S. officials who spoke to CNN. It would be the first use of the weapon in the Iran war. No order has been given and the plans are options should President Trump order combat to resume, before or after the midterms.

The MOAB is the largest non-nuclear bomb in the U.S. arsenal. It weighs 21,600 pounds, is GPS guided and explodes above ground for a wide blast. One source said Trump ordered strike packages including “a lot of energy infrastructure” and a potential MOAB, worded as coming “prior to US retrograde in CENTCOM AOR,” a military term for withdrawing forces. A second source said plans for nuclear sites, including Pickaxe Mountain, explicitly call for it. CNN says the U.S. and Israel believe Iran stored nuclear program components there.

The White House said it does not comment on sensitive military plans that “may or may not exist” and that Trump “keeps all options on the table.” The Pentagon said it plans for a wide range of scenarios.

The U.S. last used the MOAB in 2017 against ISIS tunnels in Afghanistan. Afghan officials said it killed 36 fighters.

GLOBAL BATTLEFIELD

When working with professional units, the fundamental role of any instructor is to understand the end users mission set, assess skill set and then tailor the curriculum in order to increase capability and ultimately enhance lethality and combat effectiveness in meaningful and practical ways.

In my experience as a student and a training provider, copy and paste training programmes never deliver optimum results. To teach is an honour, but to work alongside cadre with real world experience, depth of knowledge and passion is a privilege.

However the true testament to any course is the progression of the lads. What I saw this previous week was truly impressive.

The members of the Thai Naval Special Warfare Command were exemplary in not only their performance but more importantly their attitude. To a man they demonstrated the ability to learn, adapt and employ skills at a rate I’ve not seen anywhere else.

These boys are the real deal, no question. Motivated, experienced and highly capable. Not to mention hard as woodpeckers lips!

There is a lot more that I’ll cover in time, but right now i feel it very important to say thank you. Not only to the Thai’s for their Gold standard hospitality, effort and professionalism but to GBRS Group for giving me this opportunity to work alongside world class guys in such unique circumstances.

To every single member of the The Royal Thai Navy - ขอบคุณครับ

Thank you.
