Family legacy (noun) - A powerful and meaningful concept that goes beyond wealth, and encompasses generational values, individual and collective identities, traditions, lore and family history.
Our first-generation mother always joked that all of her kids were going to graduate from UCLA. We grew up with countless UCLA shirts, an overflow of memorabilia, and talked about how it would be cool, but very difficult to do.
On June 14th, our mother’s dream will essentially come true with her youngest daughter officially graduating from UCLA, making all three of her daughters UCLA Alumni (our brother is currently a sophomore at Morehouse College).

As our current chapter at UCLA comes to a close, not many words can describe what our mother means to us, and our family as a whole. But, this accomplishment illustrates the power of guidance, encouragement, expectation, and most importantly love within a family.
