Having never taken pottery before I was a little leery, but after only one hour in this beautiful barn with the wonderful teacher, Michelle, I felt completely relaxed and enjoyed every minute. Surprisingly, I’m really pleased with my creations 😳🎉🙏🏽

Around the waterhole, the orphans peek into their future.

Every elephant see here is an orphan. The smaller ones are part of our dependent herd, and their towering friend is Challa, a 22-year-old rescued, raised, and rewilded through our Orphans’ Project.

Zoom out, and that future gets even greater. Waiting in the wings are entirely wild bulls — who even tower above Challa! They’re generously giving the youngsters space to drink, after the Keepers requested them to move off with a whistle and a wave. In the fullness of time, every small orphan you see here will join their ranks, reclaiming their place in the wilds of Tsavo.
