NEW BRAND. Strategy, naming and identity for CORDE, the collaborative R&D environment for physics research at the University of Cambridge.
CORDE is a £75m national facility open to any UK physics researcher, academic or commercial. The University of Cambridge is rated number 5 in the world for physics, and CORDE gives remarkable access to its world-leading equipment, facilities and resources. Our identity makes a strong visual link between CORDE and the University via shared colour, typeface and lockups, yet signals that it’s open to industry via its use of lissajous curves, a pattern common to physics research. The logo cycles through a series of graphic shapes based on the curves – allowing the identity to work exceptionally well in digital applications.
