I could’ve used this message in the clouds back when I was 350 pounds 😂

I used to think I had to give up regular rice and settle for alternatives like cauliflower rice in order to stay on track with my goals. I knew there had to be a way to still eat the foods I loved but in a healthier way, which is why I created Kaizen.

Kaizen was one of my biggest cheat codes during my 150 lb weight loss since it packs 20g of protein per serving + 15g fiber and only has 6g net carbs.

You can find Kaizen at @wegmans 💚 If you head over to the rice aisle and grab a box, make sure to tag us!

If you don’t have a Wegmans nearby? You can shop all your favorites at kaizenfoodcompany.com

The oldest man in the world. 119 years old. 🇨🇷

Born in Cañas, Guanacaste. He still calls this province home.

Researchers spend careers on this question: José answered it in one word.

In Japan they’d call this his ikigai (生き甲斐) his reason for being. Jose calls it work.

Left arm, 119 years old, zero hesitation.

A shovel in his hand, a machete on his hip and a smile on his face. At 107 years old.

Biohacking is expensive. José is humble. He doesn’t spend tens of thousands of dollars trying to extend his life. He just lives it.

Over one hundred years of living purposefully under the Costa Rican sun. This is Pura Vida.

Nose-to-tail, the way humans have always eaten. Resourceful and intentional.

Fruit and honey from close to home: carbs processed by nature.

The fats his family has cooked with since he was a boy.

His morning drink: agua dulce; unrefined cane sugar melted into hot water. Simple, traditional, unprocessed.

community + competition + laughter 🎲

He’s not tracking calories. He doesn’t have a sleep score. He’s not biohacking. It’s more instinctual. He’s moving and eating food for humans.

Meat, fruit, milk, honey. Food your great-grandparents (and my new friend José) would recognize.

José’s ikigai is his work, his land, and his family. It doesn’t have to be grand. It just has to get you out of bed in the morning.

Three ingredients: sun, movement, fresh air. Free and always available.

Connection is also a longevity tool.

more laughter ≈ more life

Real food. Hard work. Sunshine. Family.
Laughter. José didn’t overcomplicate it. Neither should you.
