Some heavy surf today 😳
The power of the ocean is no joke.

But I’ll say it again, if we had sand on our coastline like a TON of sand these properties and roads and public access points, infrastructure and parking lots for tourism etc. would be protected. Along with Coastal Armoring also.

Just “letting the ocean destroy development” isn’t the answer in my opinion, and I DO NOT own a house on the sand or beach for the record. And for the record these homes are built on Bedrock NOT sand, and actually there used to be sand in front of these homes. We’re humans we develop we grow and the cause and effect of course, happen. So with all of the development all around and upstream and the 80,000 damns that have been built in the USA. Over 1,400 damns in California Alone, and 100 in SoCal which is proven to stop sand from coming down our creeks, rivers and streams which is over 60% of where our coastline gets its sand from. This is the natural process of sand replenishment that has been choked off.

So what has to happen is that humans have to bring that missing surplus of trapped sand or supply to our coastline now. Also coastal armoring and riprap to protect important infrastructure, public access, roads and yes property and homes. Protecting development is better than letting them just fall into the ocean, causing more debris to end up in the oceans.

Either way we have to do something and “not doing anything” is not a good idea in my opinion. In the Netherlands they bring in TONS of sand regularly. Offshore Dredging ships extract roughly 12 million cubic meters of sand every year from deep beds in the North Sea (typically 5 to 10+ kilometers offshore) -

Huntington Beach brings sand in, San Clemente and now Newport Beach. If we don’t do anything then all of the beaches are going to go away and no more Skimboarding or chilling on the beach. What do you think? 🤔

Hi, my name is Day, and in just eight months, my life has changed in ways I never imagined.

In February 2026, I was diagnosed with thyroblastoma thyroid cancer, an extremely rare cancer, after doctors found a tumor in my thyroid. I underwent surgery to remove the tumor, my thyroid, and the lymph nodes on the right side of my neck. From March through May, I received aggressive chemotherapy and radiation.

In May, I rang the bell, and in July 2026, I was told I was cancer-free. I finally began looking forward to my future and got engaged to the love of my life.

Then, on October 26, 2026, everything changed again. I was diagnosed with metastatic thyroblastoma cancer, meaning the cancer has spread to other areas of my body. I will begin treatment again next month, and my doctors are preparing me for the possibility that I may need ongoing treatment.

I’m scared and overwhelmed, but I still have faith. I fought before, and I will fight again.

Because my cancer is so rare, I will need to work with specialists experienced in treating rare cancers. Funds raised through this GoFundMe will help cover specialized medical care, treatment, transportation, rent, food, and other essential living expenses while I undergo treatment.

If you’re able to donate, no amount is too small. If you cannot donate, please share my story. Prayers, encouragement, and positive energy mean more to me than I can express.

To everyone who has supported me, thank you. Your love carried me through my first fight, and I need that support again.

Cancer came back—but so did my fight.

I beat this once, and with faith, treatment, and the love of my community, I believe I can beat it again.

With love, faith, and hope,
Day ❤️ #thyroblastomaawareness #thyroidcancer #wlw #support #charity LINK IS IN MY BIO 🙏🏾🥺 please tag below any potential support rare cancer treatment centers/ potential donors or media to help spread awareness!!! Tag the shaderoom too not enough pl know about this thyroblastoma thyroid cancer and awareness is truly needed🥺
