I know this is a scary topic, but taking steps to learn and prepare is one of the best things you can do.

The news this month has been a lot, with new cybersecurity holes, hacks on real-world systems, and more talk about what happens if the power or internet goes down for a while.

Most of my day is spent helping companies with AI, and I still have a backup plan for that scenario. It’s a go bag with the basics (water, batteries, a flashlight, and a paper list of phone numbers) plus a lot of things I wouldn’t have thought to pack a year ago.

A lot of you have asked, so I put everything in one place. Buy from it, shop on your own, I truly don’t care either way. I just wanted you to have SOMEwhere to start.

So if this has been on your mind lately, or you’ve been meaning to get prepared and weren’t sure where to begin, comment GOBAG and I’ll send you my list.

(It’s kind of a go bag slash emergency preparedness slash natural disaster slash cybersecurity preparedness list all in one - and don’t forget food and water for at least 3 days!)

Former #TurkeyLegHut co-owner Lyndell “Lynn” Price has been sentenced to 9 years (105 months) in federal prison for orchestrating a 2020 arson attack on a rival #Houston business.

U.S. District Judge Sim Lake handed down the sentence on Friday, October 30, 2026, which will be followed by three years of supervised release. Price, 44, had pleaded guilty in June 2026 to conspiracy to commit arson after a plea agreement dropped his remaining federal charges.

In June 2020, a crew directed by Price poured gasoline across the bar’s entrance ramp and deck, sparking a massive fire and subsequent explosion that terrified nearby residents.

The attack stemmed from a bitter business feud with Bar 5015 owner Steve Rogers. Rogers had previously declined to let Price buy into the bar and refused to sell his own shares of the Turkey Leg Hut back to Price. Price had texted Rogers threatening to “burn the place down” before the incident.

The explosion caused between $75,000 and $750,000 in property damage, though fortunately, no one was injured.

Federal authorities investigated the blast for years using phone records, location data, and surveillance footage. Price was ultimately arrested in April 2025 alongside his former employees. According to prosecutors, Price directed a Turkey Leg Hut employee to assemble the crew and paid them after the fire was set. Four other co-defendants have also pleaded guilty to their roles in the conspiracy and await sentencing.

Before his sentence was read, Price apologized to the court, stating, “Having done good gave me every reason to know better and to make better decisions”. He requested a five-year sentence, while prosecutors pushed for the maximum penalty of 20 years, citing his history of past arrests.

The Turkey Leg Hut, once a viral celebrity hotspot, filed for bankruptcy in late 2024 and is now closed.

And this is why October is my favorite month 🎃
