Every night in my dreams I see you, I feel you That is how I know you go on Far across the distance And spaces between us You have come to show you go on Near, far, wherever you are I believe that the heart does go on Once more, you open the door And you're here in my heart And my heart will go on and on

A #Catholic priest in #Ecuador has died after a massive wooden crucifix fell on him while he was celebrating Mass, in a tragic incident captured on a livestream. (SWIPE)

The victim, Father Patricio Alfredo Sánchez Molinari, was leading a service at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Guayaquil, Ecuador, on October 17, 2026, when the large crucifix mounted behind the altar suddenly detached from the wall and struck him. The incident occurred approximately 27 minutes into the livestream, leaving churchgoers screaming and rushing to help.

The Archdiocese of Guayaquil confirmed the priest’s death and released a statement expressing condolences to his family, friends and religious community. Sánchez Molinari was a member of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer and served as the church’s parish priest.

The footage has since circulated widely on social media, sparking shock and grief among viewers. Authorities have not yet publicly established what caused the crucifix to detach from the wall, and the circumstances surrounding the accident remain unclear.

What a race! 🔥 First the mud, then the heat - it was definitely a tough one. But the raw beauty of nature here, the breathtaking views and running above the clouds with the snowy peaks of the Andes right beside me made every step worth it. A little suffering, but memories I’ll carry with me for a long time. ✨
