Going into this record, I felt a pressure like never before. The first record we wrote, Better Off, was what we thought people wanted to hear. When that didn’t work, we decided as a band to just create music we felt was true to us. After spending the pandemic carefully and methodically crafting new songs (with guidance and wisdom from Skyler Acord) we released Slow Bloom - and for the first time in my life, people started to care about and enjoy the music we made.
It led to us touring with so many incredible bands and signing with a brand new label - Thriller Records. We knew that we had to one up Slow Bloom, and in our quest to do so, we tried new methods. We traveled to LA to write, and not only did we get to work with some amazing people and come back with a bunch of songs, but also with new found insight and knowledge of how we operate as a band and as individuals. It was by far the hardest record to make for many reasons, but I am eternally grateful for the help we received from @zachjones_ , @skyduck64 and @lophiile . Without them, this record wouldn’t have been able to come together.
Thank you to @myriam_black_tattoo for doing such a stellar job capturing the essence of our record with the incredible artwork.
Last and not least, big thank you to the real rockers who have been with us - whether it’s been years, months, days, or minutes, I appreciate everyone taking the time to listen to The Home Team.
You either become hardened or crack in The Crucible of Life - and in this case it hardened us.
The Crucible of Life out now via @thrillerrecords - Rocker Country… Let’s Ride.

You all crushed CLE and it was great to chat with you. Y’all are super cool to your fans, which is admirable, but also this music is otherworldly! I haven’t been this excited about music in YEARS! Congrats on this creative masterpiece.

Found you guys when Better Off was still kinda new. I loved what I heard and went back and listened to Burning Gold and Jimmy on the Radio (which I also love). When Slow Bloom came out I was blown away, and I am once again. You guys get better and better, and it was really cool to be around to see you find your sound. I got to meet you guys after a concert once, the most down to earth band I’ve ever had the pleasure to speak to. Real Rockers Only 🥹🤘
