For the past few days, people have been arguing on Twitter about what behavior is and isn't reasonable when it comes to parents maintaining their friendships. From what I can tell, it all goes back to a tweet by @/iWomansplainer, who asked for advice.

The Twitter user wrote: "My friend wants to plan a couples, no-kids weekend getaway, splitting the cost of a large AirBNB, in January for her 30th birthday. I really do not love this idea (husband is mortified), neither to spend the money nor to get someone to take the toddler for 3 days. It would be a 2.5 hour drive away for us, too, so it’s not like we’re close if something happens. I haven’t been away from him for even 1 night yet and he still just seems so young! It would be very hard to leave him for that long. Am I just a party pooper who needs to get over it? Genuine question. Like I actually need advice here guys."

What are your thoughts? 👀

It's Election Day! One of the privileges of living in a proud democracy is having a say in how we're governed. Take a little extra time today to go exercise that right — by voting.

If you've already dropped off your ballot, congratulations! Wear that "I voted" sticker with pride and encourage your friends to do the same. If you're on your way to the polls, take a moment to brush up on your voting rights (as spelled out by the @aclu_nationwide):

• Made a mistake on your ballot? You can ask for a new one.
• Still in line when the polls close? Stay there — you have the right to vote.
• Voting machines down? Ask for a paper ballot.
• Feeling intimated? Voter intimidation is illegal — as is the deployment of federal agents (such as ICE or the National Guard) to interfere with the voting process.
• Need help? If you encounter a problem or have questions, call the Election Protection Hotline: 1-866-OUR-VOTE (English) / 1-888-VE-Y-VOTA (Spanish) / 1-844-YALLA-US (Arabic) / 1-888-API-VOTE (Asian languages)

One final tip: Voting is more fun if you do it with friends. If you head to the polls in a group, you can share your rights with others, catch up with folks as you wait to cast your ballot — then get together and watch the results come in.

So get out there, make your voice heard, and put democracy in action!
