MEET THE DANCERS of DH’s You Look Like a Fun Guy: Mykel Marai Nairne, Lindsey Jones, Paige Barnett Kulbeth, and Joey Kipp
🍄 @mykelmarai
Company dancer since 2018 and NYC native, Mykel shared her favorite mushroom recipe: Vegan Mushroom Make-Ahead Gravy
“It’s a mushroom gravy recipe I make every Thanksgiving for my family! It’s vegan because I’m dairy-free, but always a hit with non-vegans/dairy lovers. The original recipe is by Melissa Clark of the NYT, but I always riff on it after consulting the comment section. Definitely add a tablespoon or two of miso paste for some extra umami and some herbs (thyme, rosemary) if you have. You can also scale up and add in different kinds of mushrooms to enhance the flavor. Truly delicious!!”
🍄 @lindzoidjones
Long-standing company dancer since 2012 from St. Louis, Missouri, Lindsey also shared her favorite way to eat mushrooms!
“I love to sauté lion’s mane in butter and add some salt. Also shiitake mushrooms sautéed as a topping for savory oatmeal is another favorite. I like to let the mushrooms shine.”

Paige is a Lafayette, Louisiana native and company dancer since 2019. Paige shared her favorite mushroom appearance in television:
“I love the ‘clickers’ in a show called The Last of Us. They’re humans infected with a mutant fungus and the main villains of a zombie apocalypse horror story. What’s not to love?”
🍄 @jkippster
Joey is DH’s newest company dancer! Born in Brazil and raised in Mtn. View, California, Joey was asked what his favorite pop-culture mushroom reference was. His answer?
“Super Mario Brothers”
