CAMGIRL wears a mask (part 1) 02.15.26
I created the video projections day-of, with the images based off the dream I had the night before. My last CAMGIRL was in 2022, so this was a special one for me... I'm reflecting on the idea of tenderness in a complex and overstimulating world and integrating past selves without returning to them.

Music by Stephen Castiglione (@stephen.castiglione)

NEXT THURSDAY | 9:30pm 👼🦓 Holy Animals will be at The Tank (@thetanknyc) on March 27!

💋Put on that Herb Alpert record you’ve been holding on to and have a very groovy weekend.

Here’s a clip from my archives! If you wanna see more of me and some other truly sexy performers, come see Holy Animals at @acadianacenterforthearts on July 11 & 12 at 7:30pm…

It’ll be unhinged rock, opera, modern dance, electronic music, video art, and wonderful lighting- all bundled up into a sweet lil’ package of Dante’s Divine Comedy.

Proof that I performed alongside Gigi Hadid and Miley Cyrus that one time for a @marcjacobs fashion show. Choreography by @karolearmitage by @paigebarnett__

One of those more humbling moments (otherwise known as what happens in Louisiana stays in Louisiana). Foto 4 is of my Uncle Mike-playing Guns N’ Roses cover band-who is also my godfather. by @paigebarnett__

All I want in this world are two things: to be near the people I love (physically or spiritually or both), and to do the thing I love. You should want that, too.

Here's a quote from one of my favorite novels, The Awakening by Kate Chopin: "But the beginning of things, of a world especially, is necessarily vague, tangled, chaotic, and exceedingly disturbing. How few of us ever emerge from such a beginning! How many souls perish in its tumult!"

We don't have to perish <3

It's a Twain's world and we're all just living in it! by @paigebarnett__

the tunnel (2026)

Named from Ernesto Sabato's 1948 novel, one of obsessive love, false narratives, and murder. I was needing to get a quick sketch out. Footage taken from 2017 and 2026 (almost a decade of life with video art... what!?!)

I hope you die with dignity (2018)

I once had a roommate, who had a great-aunt, who gave her these words when asked to provide some insight into life. As we get older, the comfortable trajectory (I've observed) is to become less afraid of dying and more hesitant about living. Well, isn't that something.

IT'S INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY, BITCHES!!! Thank your goddesses for the ladies, hug and kiss the important ones in your life, and maybe try to do 1 thing today that shows how much you'd like to fuck the patriarchy!! (Obviously there's many more people I'd love to include in these photos, but my phone is new and my camera roll is lacking. Ily)

What are you gunna do? ♀️ by @paigebarnett__

Nothing I say can describe the experience I had at @atlanticcenterforthearts with the artists of Residency #196. It was simply magical, my spirit house, an eye-opening way of living life through art and pure love.

Thank you to @johnheginbotham, @meglevin, and @greg.corbino for facilitating such an incredible 3 weeks, and mentoring us in dance, music, puppetry, climate activism, and the awful truth of the way our planet (and the species that live on it) is heading towards. It's never too late to change the course!

I have new favorite artists. They are @samtruedeutsch @hausofmarsian @sturmn8r @olivia_passarelli @miguel.mirandac @gaptoothstudios @dreuxness @eleanorseigler @aserenedaydream @caitlin4jk @billiefeather @stephen.castiglione @katy.williams.design @estherlilydew @dancewithneelam by @paigebarnett__
