Same movement. Two different postpartum journeys. And a WHOLE lot of learning in between. 👏🤍

Y'all... THIS is why I talk so much about breathing, alignment, and pressure management!!

After my second baby, I started noticing a bulge around my belly button during movements like chin-ups and my innie belly button started looking like an outtie on a consistent basis….i knew something was up!

Fast forward to one year postpartum after my THIRD baby... and look at the difference.👌

But here's what I really want you to understand...

It's not just about what you SEE happening at my belly button. It's about what's happening INSIDE my body and how I've learned to manage the demands of movement.

Learning how to position my rib cage and pelvis, coordinate my breathing, and most importantly manage pressure through my core has made such a difference in how I perform movements like this.

Because chin-ups aren't just about upper body strength. Your core has to manage the load too!

And here's something important... less visible bulging doesn't necessarily mean a hernia has healed. Hernias are structural issues that deserve proper evaluation. But learning how to manage pressure and build strength progressively can make a BIG difference in how we move and what we're able to tolerate.

THIS is why I teach women to understand their bodies instead of just handing them exercises.

Not because our bodies need to look a certain way, but because we deserve to understand HOW they function. 🤍

And that's what I want for every woman, whether you're newly postpartum or years beyond.

To feel STRONG. CAPABLE. EMPOWERED. 👏

If you want to learn how to connect with your core and pelvic floor while building full body strength, come join us inside my current MLAM Full Body, Core & Pelvic Floor Challenge!

Comment READY and I'll send you the link! We're just getting started and it's not too late to join us!! 🤍💪

*screams “FOLLOW @wittyidiot !*

Except I don’t have a mountain and screaming sounds like a lot? And posting here just feels a bit more effective, you know? Because realistically, how many people would hear me from the top of a mountain anyway? This is all a lot. *goes back to bed*

Friends- today’s #FollowFriday featured writer is one of my favorite people on the internet - the great @wittyidiot, lover of Costco hot dogs and an all around good person. If you’re not already following him, ain’t no time like the present to change that!
