A Neanderthal who died 75,000 years ago may have been struck through the chest by a sharpened wooden spear. And it’s possibly the earliest evidence of lethal violence involving such a weapon. The archaeologists discovered a 15mm hole in a shoulder blade found in a cave in Iraqi Kurdistan. They believe the spear entered the person's chest, passed through the body - probably damaging a lung and major blood vessels - and exited through the left shoulder blade. Head to @BBCNews’s bio to find out why this suggests Neanderthals were more violent to each other than previously thought. (📷 University of Cambridge, Getty, Dr Emma Pomeroy) #Neanderthal #BBCNews
Everyone calls it luck until they see the scars. 🦈🔥 The people who said it would never work. The promotion that went to someone else. The plan that failed and took years of savings with it. The friends who drifted away once the work took over every weekend. Most success stories come with a list like that. You just never hear it, because the struggle happens long before anyone is paying attention. Then there are the quieter costs. The missed birthdays. The late nights doing work nobody pays for yet. The self-doubt that shows up every time a plan falls apart and has to be rebuilt. Luck shows up once. Success comes from showing up whether luck is on your side or not. The next time someone’s results look effortless, think about the scars you can’t see. Follow ➡️ @Wealth 🌟 to learn valuable life advice every time you open Instagram. Menopause is a natural stage in women’s lives, marking the end of their reproductive years. Most women experience it between the ages of 45 and 55, as ovarian follicular function and estrogen levels decline. The transition can begin gradually, with changes in the menstrual cycle. Over time, perimenopause can last several years and affect physical, emotional, mental and social well-being. However, hormonal and non-hormonal treatments can help alleviate symptoms and support women through this stage of life. On Sunday’s #WorldMenopauseDay, @who highlights the importance of understanding menopause and its impact on women’s health.
