20 years on tour, and this is still one of the questions I get asked most often: How much does it actually cost to be a Professional Tennis player? 🎾

People see the prize money. But they rarely see the bill.

Flights, hotels, coaches, physios, training, equipment… running a professional tennis career is a lot like running a small business.

And here’s the catch: your expenses don’t stop when you lose.

These numbers are estimates, and every player’s budget looks different. But the financial responsibility is very real.

To my fellow players: does this reflect your experience? What costs would you add to the list?

Range Therapy.

Nesting thoughts 💭🐣

Having been a midwife prior to this you would think I’d have it all figured out😅 But honestly, having more knowledge doesn’t always help.

Sometimes, it actually makes things feel harder.

I’m still human, with my own experience, my own concerns and worries.

I have a midwife because I recognise that I shouldn’t be making all the decisions on my own through an emotional or biased lens.

Yes, I trust my body, but in this world I’m not sure if that’s enough anymore, and I think that’s true for almost everything in life.

Isn’t that why coaches need coaches, doctors need doctors, and therapists need therapists?

Knowing and doing aren’t the same thing, and I’ve learnt that there is so much value in the unteachable lessons we gain from personal experience.
