Dear black people, now that the democrats control the majority in both houses of congress, as well as a majority of the governors, for the first time since Obama, there are zero excuses now for there not to be a focus on the black agenda. The good thing about this is you all have two years before the presidential election to observe and measure just what, if anything, the democrat party will do for black people. Let’s see if Congress finally approves a serious and meaningful reparations bill, an anti-black hate crimes bill, criminal justice bill, anti-gentrification bill, police brutality bill, etc. Nolan Wells and Rasheem Carter better get serious federal investigations into their cases now demanded by both congressional committees on the judiciary. Remember, Congress makes the laws, not Trump.

Let’s see if all these new democratic governors do anything to address miseducation, mass incarceration, police genocide, gentrification and economic/employment apartheid in their states. We know the lgbtq and immigrant agendas will be reinstated, but what will black people get out of it is the question that needs to be answered. Stop celebrating elections and start focusing on concrete measurable gains for our people. I’m not too optimistic, the democrats won white people and Latinos back, the two largest voter groups in the country, they did it by promising black people nothing, so don’t expect any real change in policy as they want to hold on to those voters for the 2028 election.

انتخابات میان‌دوره‌ای آمریکا در روز سه‌شنبه ۳ نوامبر ۲۰۲۶ با پیروزی چندین نامزد مسلمان در رقابت‌های کنگره و مجالس ایالتی همراه شد؛ مهم‌ترین آن، انتخاب «عبدال السید»، پزشک آمریکایی مصری‌تبار، به‌عنوان نخستین سناتور مسلمان تاریخ ایالات متحده بود.

به گزارش رویترز و آسوشیتدپرس، عبدال السید، ۴۲ ساله و نامزد حزب دموکرات، در ایالت میشیگان «مایک راجرز»، نامزد جمهوری‌خواه مورد حمایت دونالد ترامپ، را شکست داد. او در کارزار انتخاباتی خود بر کاهش هزینه‌های زندگی، گسترش خدمات درمانی و کاهش نفوذ شرکت‌های بزرگ در سیاست تأکید داشت و با حملاتی علیه هویت مذهبی خود نیز مواجه شد.

در نیوجرسی، «آدام حموی»، جراح مصری‌تبار و پزشک سابق ارتش آمریکا که برای درمان مجروحان به غزه سفر کرده بود، به مجلس نمایندگان راه یافت و نخستین نماینده مسلمان این ایالت در کنگره شد.

«رشیده طلیب»، نماینده فلسطینی‌تبار میشیگان، و «الهان عمر»، نماینده سومالیایی‌تبار مینه‌سوتا، بار دیگر انتخاب شدند. «آندره کارسون» در ایندیانا و «لطیفه سایمون» در کالیفرنیا نیز کرسی‌های خود را حفظ کردند. همچنین «داریالیزا آویلا شوالیه» از نیویورک به مجلس نمایندگان راه یافت.

در سطح ایالتی، «ابر کواس»، فعال فلسطینی‌تبار، به سنای ایالت نیویورک راه یافت و به نخستین زن مسلمان فلسطینی‌تبار منتخب مجلس قانون‌گذاری این ایالت تبدیل شد. «نبیله سید» نیز در ایلینوی با شکست سناتور جمهوری‌خواه، کرسی این حوزه را به دموکرات‌ها منتقل کرد.

در کالیفرنیا، «عایشه وهاب»، نامزد افغان‌تبار، نیز در شمارش اولیه آرا برای کسب یک دوره کامل در مجلس نمایندگان پیشتاز بود.

بر اساس آمار اولیه رسانه «مسلم نتورک»، دست‌کم ۳۶ نامزد مسلمان در انتخابات فدرال، ایالتی و محلی پیروز شده‌اند یا در رقابت‌های خود پیشتاز هستند. تاکنون پیروزی هفت نامزد مسلمان برای کنگره، شامل یک سناتور و شش عضو مجلس نمایندگان، گزارش شده است.

بسیاری از این نامزدها با تمرکز بر کاهش هزینه‌های زندگی، حقوق مدنی و مخالفت با حمایت نظامی بدون قیدوشرط آمریکا از اسرائیل وارد رقابت شدند.
