Today I met Bill Grix, a solo glass artist working in Honolulu. These pieces are some of his personal works that he hasn’t had the chance to develop as he’s occupied with commissions (using the cnc router). He was so very welcoming, open and kind to me. I will soon be meeting him again to have him on my podcast with
@littlesistermagazine I found bill today because I’m trying to hunt for hot glass on island. There’s gotta be some magical garage somewhere and I’m gonna find it. But I didn’t realize how fun it would be to meet the people along the way. Our glass community is so diverse and filled with interesting people all pulled together by some mysterious practice involving a diverse material. Most people don’t stray on this path, but those that do give their all and dedicate their lives to it. That’s so very powerful and it’s interesting to see how others in this industry view their own practice. I’m excited for this journey :3
