Dreads mean less fuss until it's time to neaten them up!
I used to crochet my hair once a month but now I give my virgin hair and roots a break and do it every 3/4 months. Also, it's hard work when you do it solo! 😂
It takes me two days to do my hair
My hand cramps, so I need a break, my biceps burn, so I need a break. I must eat, drink something, go for a walk, reply to that email, answer that call, press 'yes' when Netflix asks if I want to continue binging She-Ra. (it used to be Archer and BoJack - shows I got away with watching on my own). I stop a lot, scream and suck on my middle finger when I poke my cuticle.
But when I'm done!

It took me 3 hours to do finger coils a couple weeks ago and my arms were on fire!

Why do you crochet your hair? It grows out thin and boring, I started off that way, try just twisting your regrowth on wash day, it will eventually lock on its own and save yourself a whole day and a few hours. I wash my hair once a week and maintain them myself, no issues for the last 6 years.
