Moms are constantly asked, “What’s your secret?” “How do you make it look so easy?” “How do you keep everything together?” But we don’t ask enough about how moms are really doing.

1 in 5 mothers in the U.S. report symptoms of depression or anxiety, and perinatal mood and anxiety disorders are among the most common complications during pregnancy and the first year after birth. Most maternal mental health conditions are temporary and treatable, but so many moms are used to pushing through instead of asking for help.

That’s the message behind the @adcouncil’s The Secret to Motherhood campaign. There is no secret to motherhood. The more honestly we talk about the parts no one warned us about, the less alone moms have to feel.

Got a terrible tan filming this😭
