📷Getty Images
Last night we lost our Nala. She waited until the kids were all asleep and passed. We’ve been preparing for this day, but that certainly doesn’t make this heartbreak any easier. Losing a dog is so much more than just losing a dog. It’s losing a part of your family. My kids don’t know life without her. They don’t know coming home, and her not waiting at the front door. They don’t know a Christmas or a birthday without waking up to her tail wags. She is intertwined in all of their childhood memories. I know this pain we feel now is the price of loving her so well. What a privilege it was to have a dog like Nala. Thank you for the best 11 years. We will love you and miss you forever. 🐾
The doctor will see you now…😉 Such a special, special day. To have the privilege of doing this with my family, to share a day with so many people, of so many different ages and backgrounds, and being a part of the moment when all their hard work was realised was deeply beautiful. And then getting to round it off with a brief uni reunion of my own…goals 🥰 The camera skills of my 7 year old boy, filming mummy making her speech, were the icing on the cake. Thank you #oufamily. That’s a day I won’t forget. @theopenuniversity
