#CarleeRussell is back in court nearly three years after admitting she faked her own kidnapping in #Alabama.

Russell appeared at the Bessemer courthouse Thursday morning for a restitution hearing related to her 2023 kidnapping hoax, which resulted in her being ordered to pay nearly $18,000 in restitution.

According to WBRC News, Russell has been making payments of approximately $100 per month, but the judge says that amount needs to increase to $200 per month within the next year.

Her next hearing is scheduled for April 27, 2027.

Neighbors, if you or someone you know takes naps throughout the day, a new study suggests those daytime snoozes could be an early warning sign of dementia. Researchers at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health found that older adults who nap most days or every day face a 48% higher risk of developing dementia compared to those who rarely or never nap.
_________
The study followed 995 Americans ages 65 and older for up to 10 years. Researchers discovered that people who unintentionally dozed off had a 39% higher dementia risk, while those who took naps lasting 30 minutes or less had a 40% higher risk. These associations remained even after researchers accounted for several health conditions and nighttime sleeping habits.
_________
However, researchers emphasize that napping does not necessarily cause dementia. Instead, frequent daytime sleeping could signal early changes in the brain, particularly in areas responsible for keeping people awake. “More frequent napping could be a marker of changes in the brain, rather than a cause of brain changes that lead to dementia,” explained Dr. Adam Spira, a senior author of the study. Researchers believe monitoring changes in sleeping habits could eventually help identify people at risk years before a dementia diagnosis.
