repost from @keep.metal Happy Birthday Andy McCoy 🔥 (October 11, 1962) The guitarist, songwriter, and rock 'n' roll rebel Andy McCoy, best known as the creative force behind Hanoi Rocks, one of the most influential bands to emerge from the European glam rock scene....🔥 Born Antti Hulkko in Pelkosenniemi, Finland, McCoy developed a musical identity that blended punk rock attitude, bluesy riffs, glam rock flair, and a distinctive sense of melody. Before Hanoi Rocks, he played with Finnish punk band Pelle Miljoona Oy, helping establish his reputation in the country's underground music scene...🎸⚡ McCoy became a central figure in Hanoi Rocks after joining forces with vocalist Michael Monroe. As the band's lead guitarist and principal songwriter, he helped shape classics such as “Tragedy,” “Malibu Beach Nightmare,” “Oriental Beat,” “Back to Mystery City,” and “Don't You Ever Leave Me.” Their 1984 album “Two Steps from the Move,” produced by Bob Ezrin, brought the band closer to international success and showcased McCoy's songwriting at its most ambitious. Hanoi Rocks disbanded in 1985 following the tragic death of drummer Nicholas “Razzle” Dingley in December 1984. McCoy continued exploring different musical directions through projects including The Suicide Twins, Cherry Bombz, Shooting Gallery, and his solo releases, beginning with “Too Much Ain't Enough” in 1988. He also collaborated with Iggy Pop and later reunited with Michael Monroe for Hanoi Rocks' 2000s comeback....🖤🤘 Beyond music, McCoy is also a painter, reflecting the same restless creativity that has defined his career. His songwriting and style helped influence generations of glam metal and hard rock musicians....🔥 #AndyMcCoy #HanoiRocks #MichaelMonroe #GlamRock #GlamMetal HardRock PunkRock KeepMetal iiii]; )'

Legal sports betting, recreational weed, and porn on every phone all arrived within the last twenty years, but the consolation vice most Americans are hooked on first, usually before they can read, is junk food. It works as an instruction manual for how every consolation vice gets built: deregulate the product, capture the agencies meant to police it, and then consecrate the damage as personal autonomy. Corporate interests handle the first two steps, and radlib rhetoric handles the last. First, the industry fights off any serious regulation of what goes into food, how it’s marketed to children, and what runs off the farms that grow it, so it can sell engineered addiction to people from the moment they can recognize a logo. From there the industry captures the state: federal dietary guidance gets shaped by its lobbying, federal money flows to the corn and soy that become syrup and feedlot meat, and the fast food chains and Walmarts that sell it pay so little that their full-time workers are among the largest groups of SNAP and Medicaid recipients in the country. Americans subsidize their own poisoning at every step, from the seed to the sludge they’re handed at the drive-through. This produces a predictable crisis: over half of what Americans eat is ultra-processed, about 40 percent of adults are obese, child obesity is at a record high, and type 2 diabetes in kids is projected to rise nearly 700 percent. Once the population has been sufficiently poisoned, the activists arrive to embrace the damage as identity. Actually, you can be healthy at any size. Actually, BMI is racist. Actually, a soda tax is an attack on communities of color. Actually, restricting what SNAP can buy is just stigmatizing the poor. The profiteers make the public sick, and the sickness gets rebranded as an identity in need of protection, but the protection only runs one way: against anyone who calls it unhealthy, and never against the companies that caused it. For the companies, it’s a marriage made in heaven: their dying, addicted customers are shielded from shame, and the positivity movement defending them gains new members every day the subsidized poison we eat does its work.
