CHANEL X BFI NEW FILMMAKER AWARDS 2026: Celebrating Creative Audacity It was my great privilege to join the jury alongside Jessie Buckley, @edward_enninful @marielouisekhondji and Ben Roberts for this special award. All recipients demonstrate an impressive vibrancy within the UK independent filmmaking space – incredibly talented people with personal and powerful messages to communicate, and the vision and creativity to tell those stories in an extraordinary way. This award will hopefully enable them to expand their work and explore new ideas, cultivate co-creation and knowledge exchange, and widen the representation of voices in today’s cultural community. The Awards support the BFI’s mission to back the next generation of UK independent filmmaking talent. Congratulations to all the very deserving winners of this prize! I urge you to seek out their work! Rich Felgate ‘We The Hated’ @olivenwosu ‘Lady’ @imranperretta ‘Ish’ @rachel_taparjan ‘Something Familiar’ Thank you @chanelofficial @britishfilminstitute 🖤 🎥

A joint press conference by All India Students’ Association (AISA) president Neha Bora and Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke turned chaotic in New Delhi on October 15, as a group of people interrupted the event with slogans. Shouts of “Band karo… dafa ho jao” (Stop it… get lost) could be heard as the press conference began at the Press Club of India. Bora urged the organisers to escort those disrupting the event out, while Dipke addressed the ongoing protests against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. He alleged that student activists and opposition leaders had been detained during demonstrations over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. The press conference was also attended by advocate Prashant Bhushan, Kapil Sibal and actor Prakash Raj. The incident came a day before CJP’s planned “Lehra Do Tiranga” march in Delhi’s Connaught Place, where authorities had stepped up security and imposed restrictions on public gatherings. The protests centre on demands for Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation and allegations of irregularities in voter-list revisions—claims disputed by the Election Commission.
How do you plant a cool-weather container that lasts all season? Comment CONTAINER and I’ll send you different ways to use these plants for fall and winter full sun at least 6 hours. Start with structure, then layer, y’all! I anchor mine with a boxwood topiary, fill in with good soil, then tuck cool-weather beauties all around: white violas, trailing rosemary, ‘Black Scallop’ ajuga, purple pansies, and lamium. Then I hide bulbs down in the soil for a surprise of spring blooms. One gorgeous container now, and a second act come spring!
🚨 Punjab Bandh Over Drugs, But Dandiya Night at GGDSD College? ISF Questions SDCU! While Punjab stood up against the drug menace, a Dandiya Night was organised at GGDSD College, sparking questions over the timing of the event. 🔥 ISF has raised allegations against SDCU, questioning why the celebration was held on a day when Punjab Bandh had been called against drugs. ISF also claimed that several students could not attend the event due to the bandh. Was the timing of the event appropriate, or should the organisers have considered the situation in Punjab? 👀 When Punjab is raising its voice against drugs, should student organisations also reflect on their social responsibility?
