Cowardice? Moral collapse?

As we near a pivotal election, 99 members of the US Senate still refuse to use the word “genocide” to describe Israel’s actions in Gaza even though the consensus opinion of almost every scholar and human rights group in the world is that a genocide is occurring. This deafening silence is obvious proof that the US government has subordinated a chunk of its foreign policy to the interests of another country.

It’s not like one has to go out on a limb to use the word. In the rest of the world it’s not even controversial. The overwhelming consensus of the world’s 500 genocide scholars and leading human rights groups (including @amnesty and @humanrightswatch) is that the Netanyahu government is committing genocide. Yet all US Senators but Bernie Sanders refuse to use the word. Chuck Schumer refuses to use it. Chris Van Hollen, John Ossoff, Ed Markey, Susan Collins, Elizabeth Warren, and Elise Slotkin refuse to use it. My research also indicates not a single one of the 50 US governors (24 of them Dems) uses the word.

The silence from the Democrats reinforces the notion that there is no effective national opposition party in the US. Certainly not one with the guts to take on Trump and the power structure. The Senate not only is silent, but has voted to send billions of dollars worth of bombs and other weaponry to Israel which are used to carry out the horrific acts.

The crime of genocide was codified by the international community in 1948 as acts “committed with the intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnic, racial or religious group.” At least seven credible international human rights groups or UN bodies have found that Israel’s actions meet the criteria. They include the Israel-based @btselem and Physicians for Human Rights. The International Court of Justice issued a provisional ruling in 2024 that acknowledged Israel was likely committing genocide. In 2025, a UN Commission of Inquiry released a devastating report finding that Israel is committing genocide. The list goes on and on.

When facing the greatest moral issue of our time, 99% of Senators fail to call it like it is. Unconscionable. 👊👊

Deva sir… Deva sir… Deva sir. ❤️💔

I have rarely come across a person as genuinely good-hearted as you, sir. A true legend who is so humble and down to earth.

I had the privilege of spending almost 45 minutes to an hour having a conversation with you. We spoke about your films, and you patiently listened to everything I had to say. There is a huge difference between my age and your experience, yet you gave me so much time, respect, and patience. I initially approached you for a promotional collaboration, but I walked away with something far more precious — a beautiful connection and friendship.

But, Deva sir, it is heartbreaking to know that you have left us today. It is so difficult to accept this loss. You have earned the love and respect of so many people, and that itself speaks volumes about the beautiful human being you are.

Tamil Nadu will truly miss you, sir. Your melodies will live on forever. No matter how many years pass, your music will never fade away. Like a diamond, it will remain timeless and precious for generations to come. 🎶❤️

We love you, sir. We miss you, sir.

You will always remain in our hearts through your music and the beautiful memories you have left behind.

Rest in peace, Deva sir. 🙏💔#

@srikanth_deva_official More power to you, brother. ❤️

Neighbors, Gypsy-Rose Blanchard has found herself back into the headline just weeks after the death of her former fiancé. Blanchard was involved in a minor car accident in Louisiana on Saturday, according to state police.
—————————
Authorities said the crash resulted in minor property damage, but no injuries were reported. No arrests were made in connection with the incident. According to TMZ, sunlight shining into Blanchard’s eyes may have contributed to the collision, which reportedly occurred at an intersection. The outlet also highlighted a social media post from an individual in Houma, Louisiana, who appeared to reference the incident. “2026 is wild. Just got sideswiped by Gypsy Rose. FML,” the person wrote in the post.
—————————
The circumstances surrounding the collision have not been fully detailed publicly. The accident comes just weeks after Blanchard’s former fiancé, Ken Urker, reportedly died suddenly on October 1, his 34th birthday. Urker was found dead at his home in Raceland, Louisiana, after a family member requested a welfare check when he failed to show up for work. Thoughts?
